About the event
Join Becky Hardy for a butterfly big sit at Schultz Tank to observe a variety of butterfly species ‘puddling’ at the tank’s edge. The walk to the tank is a short, easy walk, however we will be in direct sun the whole time. We will walk the edges of the tank to see what species we can find, as well as sit still to see what flies to us. Some species we may see include: Weidemeyer’s Admiral, Bramble Hairstreak, Melissa and Silvery Blues, Taxiles Skipper and Russet Skipperling.
Bring the following: binoculars and/or camera, hat, sturdy shoes, sunscreen, hydration, snack and a camping chair, if preferred. Carpooling is recommended. Vault toilet available onsite. No pets please. A $5 donation per person is appreciated to support BENA. Rain will cancel the event. For questions,
contact Becky at azbutterflygirl@outlook.com.
