About the event

Join Becky Hardy for a butterfly field trip at Aspen Corner in Flagstaff. We will walk approximately

1 mile or so, at approximately 9,000 elevation, with unsteady footing in some locations. Some species we may see include: Western Pine Elfin, Queen Alexandra’s Sulphur, California Tortoiseshell, Rocky Mountain Duskywing, Silver-spotted Skipper, Hoary and Satyr Commas and several blue species. Bring the following: binoculars and/or camera, hat, sturdy shoes, sunscreen, hydration, snack and hiking poles, if preferred. Carpooling is recommended. No restroom available.


Adults only and no pets please. A $5 donation per person is appreciated to support BENA. For ques-

Meet at the Aspen Corner parking lot. From Flagstaff, take Fort Valley Road (Hwy. 180) west to

Snowbowl Road. Turn right on Snowbowl Road. The Aspen Corner dirt parking lot is located approximately 5 miles up the road, on the left side.
