About the event
Join Bella DeVito for our first-ever butterfly field trip in Prescott, Arizona! We will explore the trails at Watson Woods Riparian Preserve, a beautiful riparian habitat featuring a small creek, grasslands, and wooded areas. This easy, mostly flat loop trail includes several short side paths that provide excellent opportunities to observe butterflies in a variety of habitats.
Depending on weather conditions during the week, some sections of the trail may be slightly muddy. Butterflies that have been observed in the area include sulphurs and whites, blues, skippers, and several brush-footed species. We will spend time observing and identifying butterflies while discussing their habitats, behavior, and the plants that support them. Questions are encouraged, so bring your curiosity!
Bring: water, binoculars and/or camera, sunscreen, & comfortable walking shoes. A $5 donation per person is appreciated to support BENA. Rain or unsafe weather will cancel the event. Questions? Please contact Bella DeVito…
